Network cameras are starting to appear in more and more office buildings. Most office buildings in recent years are equipped with gigabit-class LAN lines when they are built, so it is only natural to choose a network camera that uses these as its infrastructure. Because network cameras are so compatible with surrounding systems, more office buildings are being built with integrated security systems that seamlessly integrate network cameras with access control and all types of security systems. One can implement convenient applications with such combinations. For example, if a network camera is integrated with access control, the facial data of passersby, as captured by the network camera, can be compared against facial data stored on the access control side, with gates and doors opening or closing automatically in response. Such examples have been on the increase recently.
