Demonstration of the GY-LS300 Prime Zoom Feature

This YouTube video is best when viewed in HD, full screen.

JVC's unique variable scan mapping allows you to dynamically map the pixels on the GY-LS300 4K image sensor to your target output resolution. This feature, most useful when recording in HD, allows you to zoom with prime lenses, or extend the range of zoom lenses. This demonstration shows the effect of dynamically mapping from full scan to 1920 x 1080, which has the effect of zooming the image without loss of resolution or change in DOF. The flower image shows the relationship of the sensor to final output. The woman in gallery images shows the zoom effect with camera movement. This feature is exclusive to JVC's GY-LS300 with version 2.0 upgrade, available September 2015.
