Alex is CEO of AspenWorks, and is also a videographer with 6 years experience. He documents the development of Rural Internet services in the Rocky Mountains and captures mountain top views of various communities that need communications services, for later review in the office.

Alex's comments:

"I was in a position to make a decision about documenting the rollout of Rural Broadband Internet Services. We chose the JVC JY-HD10U camera because of its high quality image, portability and bundled editing tools. We document our mountain top wireless installations using the JVC system. We are working with a local television station and they've become excited about production capabilities for MPEG2-TS. We think that this is a breakthrough camera system and intend to expand our use to production of promotional videos featuring our stellar Rocky Mountain natural beauty as a backdrop. -- The place we do business and live in."

"The JY-HD10U is user friendly. Very straightforward to use. Manual settings are easy to learn and use, the shots become predicable with 2-3 weeks of experience. The selector switch for recording modes could be a bit easier."

High definition capture with good image quality are JY-HD10U attributes that Mr. Huppenthal appreciates. "The long battery life and apparent durability are appreciated." He suggests improvements to the included editing software that would help blend audio tracks, transitions and fades. "Video Lan Client (freeware) would speed reviews of the initial captured images"

AspenWorks used the system to capture video from the Internation Design Conference (IDCA.org) this year and will likely do a complete capture as part of their donation to the IDCA, according to Mr. Huppenthal.
