Bend, OR
Bend, Oregon director, Tim Cash relies on his JVC HD100 Series camera to
deliver to his audience a high-quality look without the expense of using
film. Cash spent the last year shooting
music videos, short films, business promos, and documentaries, all with his
versatile JVC HD100 Series camera in tow.
Cash shot, wrote, edited, and directed a 30-minute short film, Skipping Stones, about a young trekker
traveling to Nepal who was enlightened by a monk in a cave. His film, shot with
HD100 Series camera, debuted in front of a sold-out audience at the Bend Film
Festival. His production company, FARfromEarth Films, produced the film.
“I have a special brand of color correction I use on every shot. It gives
the image more pop and creates a more film-like look. People constantly ask me what I use to shoot
and they can’t believe it’s not film,” said Cash.
He further commented on the features of the camera, “I just love the
ergonomics of JVC’s camera, and find smaller cameras much harder to shoot
on. The lens is what really sold it for me. Shooting manual is easy on the
HD100 Series camera as every thing you need is right on the lens.
Cash also uses his JVC camera to
shoot music videos, including reggae artist Jah Sun, whose single, “Fyah Dance”
was nominated for LA Music Hip-Hop Song of the Year. His videos are also
becoming increasingly popular on the Internet, as the video for Caribbean
artist Ras Attitude has been viewed nearly 20,000 times on YouTube.
He finished the year producing a pilot for a television show about
earth-friendly tips called Green Team TV,
which was picked up by
www.green.tv. Cash also serves as a featured filmmaker on www.reelconnect.com.
This year, Tim Cash hopes to build on his success and plans to take his
production company FARfromEarth Films on the road to shoot music videos across
the country, in an eco-friendly bio-diesel RV to provide music videos to bands
at a discounted rate. Wherever the next
adventure takes him, Cash will be ready to film it with his reliable JVC camera
in tow.
