In a promotion that recognizes his leadership abilities and in-depth knowledge of JVC's proprietary technologies, Librach was promoted in effective May 1, 2001. Librach is now responsible for helping JVC serve its global customer base with the introduction of cross-platform capable HDTV products like encoders, decoders, upconverters, and downconverters. Equally important, Librach will be accountable for building strategic alliances with key end users and manufacturers.

JVC's expanding marketing strategy is based on the digital television industry's inevitable migration toward HDTV. Like its peers, JVC is working to leverage its existing NTSC customer base, and to be successful, is rolling out interim products as well as developing new products and services that will survive the paradigm shift.

In a career at JVC that has spanned 20 years, Librach has been instrumental in introducing JVC to new markets and has been at the forefront of driving new business relationships as the A/V industry has evolved. In October 2000, Librach was appointed Assistant Vice President with responsibilities for the operations of the West Coast and Midwest Regions, operating out of JVC's Chicago offices. In this capacity, he helped to launch JVC's Digital Video Division and was a major contributor to helping JVC penetrate new markets, including the company's rapid expansion of its CineLine products into Hollywood and other prominent digital cinematography markets.

Prior to that, Librach held the position of Regional Branch Sales Manager for the Midwest Region from 1997 to 2000 with responsibilities for spearheading the rollout of JVC's robust D-9 4:2:2 and 50Mbps high-end digital videotape format and critically-acclaimed Professional DV 4:1:1 digital videotape formats.

From 1990 to 1997 Librach was Senior District Sales Manager for the Midwest Region, most recently serving the Southern District out of Dallas, Texas and prior to that, serving a Midwest territory that spanned seven states (Missouri, Southern Illinois, Iowa, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Missouri.

During a seven year period from 1984 to 1990, Librach was Zone Manager of the Mid-West, making his mark as a key contributor to the successful launch of JVC's "ProCam" line of high-end cameras, including JVC's legendary KY-950 and KY-35 cameras. Librach also oversaw the initiation and rollout of new sales methodologies for JVC, especially the commencement of direct selling via sales representatives, which increased the company's brand-image and product penetration in core markets.

Librach's steady rise through the ranks of JVC from his first post in 1982 as District Sales Manager in Missouri to his current post as Assistant Vice President, reporting directly to Bob Mueller, Executive Vice President of JVC, illustrates Librach's extraordinary value to the company.

Bob Mueller, Executive Vice President of JVC Professional Products Company said, "Lawrence Librach is a rare individual with a unique and invaluable combination of sales, marketing and technical expertise. In more than 20 years with JVC, he has proven his capability for building consensus and in helping JVC to partner with leading companies and

high-profile individuals. These skills will especially be put to the test as the company moves forward in the face of unstable economic times and a rapidly evolving HDTV marketplace. We are fortunate to have Lawrence at the helm of this effort, actively defining JVC's path in the evolving HDTV arena."

Librach is married with 1 daughter. He will continue to operate out of JVC's Mid-West division, located in Chicago, Illinois. Librach enjoys golf, computers and travel and holds an Instrument and Multi-Engine rated Commercial Pilots License.
