its 25th Anniversary
"TVF 2003" JVC Tokyo Video Festival
Begin Accepting Entries on Aug. 1 for Overseas Entrants
Winners Scheduled to Be Announced on Feb. 25, 2003
Tokyo, JAPAN (July 2002) - Victor Company of Japan, Limited (JVC) is proud to hold "TVF 2003," the JVC Tokyo Video Festival for 2003. The Festival is organized as a means of promoting the creation of content that explores the vast potential of video to deliver messages, record events, communicate information and express artistic insights.
"TVF 2003" will begin accepting entries on Aug. 1 for overseas entrants, with a deadline for receipt of Oct. 10. The winners of the festival are scheduled to be announced on Feb. 15, 2003 at the Ebisu Garden Hall, in Tokyo.
Based on the concept, "home video festival that many people can participate", Tokyo Video Festival (TVF) is aimed to enhance the video culture through promoting the creation of content and enlarging screening opportunities. For the last quarter of a century, 35,000 home video works were submitted, and these are precious video archives, reflecting the time of the works. JVC is determined to actively engage in increasing screening opportunities of these entry works.
Also, in the field of education, video is now expected to be used as a communication medium. For example, self-expression using video equipment has recently gained attention as a part of educational formation of children's characters and from a view of media literacy.
At this time, July 25th, any specific theme or subject has not been set. We will encourage a wide range of video works, including the works to express thoughts and opinions and the works that find new ideas and uses of video for the coming broadband and networking age.
