FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JVC ANNOUNCES NEW VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING, EXPANSION OF PROFESSIONAL OPERATIONS ORLANDO, FL (June 4, 2003) — JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY today announced a revitalization and expansion of its professional operations, starting with two new additions to JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY’s executive suite. Robert Harris joins JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY as vice president of marketing. “We’re very pleased to have Bob Harris on board,” said Bob Mueller, executive vice president of JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY. “His experience and leadership will be key contributions as we forge ahead with our high definition products and strategies for 2003 and beyond.” Mr. Harris joins JVC as vice president of marketing at a time of great interest and progress in the area of high definition production and display. With his sights set on substantially increasing the market share of JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS in professional markets, Mr. Harris will oversee all product development and marketing activities to ensure JVC is fully entrenched in new and existing markets. Mr. Harris brings a strong and successful background in the electronics market to his new role at JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY. He has held executive positions at Philips Consumer Electronics and Sony Electronics where he helped develop and market some of the industry’s most cutting edge products and technologies for commercial, government, and home users. Reinforcing JVC Professional’s sales executive ranks, Paul Kasparian joins JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY as eastern regional manager. Mr. Kasparian joins JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY from his most recent assignment as product manager for Sony Electronics DVCam product line. Mr. Kasparian’s career includes positions in Sony’s Medical Electronics business as well as previous responsibilities at JVC. In his new role, Mr. Kasparian’s focus is to effectively communicate the company’s overall strategy to his sales force and help streamline operations as JVC moves further into the high definition and digital display market segments. Mr. Kasparian’s history with JVC positions him well with his current responsibilities. In his earlier role as district sales manager, he helped drive sales of the revolutionary GY-DV500 professional camcorder, and as product manager was on hand for the launch of the first JVC D-ILA products. Other significant components of the JVC restructure include the addition and reassignment of key personnel who will build on their specific functional areas to solidify JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS’ market identity and market position. “We have chosen highly respected and successful individuals to lead JVC in several strong-growth areas,” said Mueller. “These moves will allow JVC to focus on untapped and expanding JVC markets such as security and surveillance, and entertainment. By fortifying new product innovations and building strategic alliances, we will have the tools and resources to aggressively market to these industries.” Business Development Mr. Birdsall joined JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY in 1984 as district sales manager. As an East Coast Branch Manager for the DVD division, he witnessed the growth of the home theater business and the rise of lightweight high-resolution projectors and plasma in the marketplace. In his new position, he will continue to expand on the tremendous progress establishing digital dailies technology in the JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS’ target markets. Strategic Technical Alliances In his prior position as National Product Marketing Manager, Mr. Martinez’s expertise was focused on the JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS line of professional camcorders. He was a driving force behind the introduction of streaming video with the GY-DV300 and its next generation, the GY-DV5000, enhanced to include sophisticated editing features and the ability to record to a hard disk. Tim Tokita has been appointed to take the helm of National Product Marketing, succeeding Mr. Martinez. Mr. Tokita has extensive market experience with JVC; previously serving in several U.S.-based assignments. Security/Surveillance A veteran of the broadcast product industry and CCTV industries, Mr. Watson joined JVC as national sales manager and successfully directed the US sales efforts. Mr. Watson’s vast industry knowledge and experience will help him and his team develop and position JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS to satisfy the booming security and surveillance market demand.
