AFFORDABLE EDITING TOOL FOR JVC’S REVOLUTIONARY JY-HD10U HD CAMERA DESIGNED FOR SMALL-BUDGET FILMMAKERS

LAS VEGAS, NV (April 19, 2004) – JVCPROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY today announced that Point Pleasant, NJ-based Lumière Media, LLC has joined the growing list of companies creating products that support JVC’s revolutionary JY-HD10U handheld high definition (HD) camera, and the JVC mission of delivering affordable HD products to the market. The Lumière editing software, named Lumière HD, provides a simple, feature-rich high definition video (HDV) editing tool intended for the small-budget filmmaker and video editor to affordably edit content shot with the JY-HD10U with Apple’s Final Cut Pro digital video editing software and distribute in any format they need.

Designed to run on basic MAC hardware, Lumière HD follows an online/offline paradigm empowering users to perform real-time editing on Final Cut Pro without rendering the timeline. Lumière HD captures data from the JY-HD10U camera, as well as all other JVC HDV and D-VHS products, and converts it to Final Cut Pro MPEG-2 friendly files from which standard definition (SD) or low-resolution proxies are created for offline editing. Once the editing is complete, Lumière HD auto conforms the original HD content to create an HD edit master.

This low-cost option lets users with only small system capabilities create high-quality HD programming, which they can distribute in multiple formats without loss of quality. The versatile program lets users create progressive DVDs, HD files for distribution on videotape or SD files all directly from the same original HDV footage.
