ACME COMMUNICATIONS UPGRADES STATIONS TO HD USING JVC PROFESSIONAL ENCODERS

Wayne, NJ (September 12, 2006) - JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY today announced that ACME Communications (Nasdaq: ACME), one of the largest affiliate groups of the CW Television Network in Santa Ana, California has purchased six DM-JV600U High Definition MPEG-2 encoders. JVC's encoders are ACME's primary on-air HD encoders at six stations across the U.S. The CW affiliate has upgraded its stations to bring HD programming to its markets affordably.

The following ACME stations have been upgraded to HD using JVC's encoders: WIWB-DT in Green Bay, WI WBUW-DT in Madison, WI, WBUI-DT in Decatur, IL, WTVK-DT in Fort Meyers, FL, WBXX-DT in Knoxville, TN, and KASY-DT in Albuquerque, NM.
