FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
“CARTS” FEATURE FILM SHOT WITH JVC
PRO HD
GY-HD100U CAMCORDER
Wayne, NJ (September 19, 2006) – Producer/Writer/Director
Chris Cashman chose JVC Professional GY-HD100U Pro HD camcorder to shoot Carts,
a feature film about an influential politician who was given a second
chance to redeem himself by spending six years in purgatory as a cart attendant
in a store parking lot.
Cashman selected the GY-HD100U because of the camera’s
interchangeable lenses and ability to shoot in 24p on a small budget, which was
financed by him and his wife. The
camera’s short set-up time allowed the crew to start shooting sooner, which
gave them more time for daylight shooting.
In addition, the camera’s maneuverability enabled the crew to quickly
move around their location easily and more efficiently.
“To our surprise, the dusk shots look just as crisp and well
lit as scenes that we captured at noon,” said Darren Leis, Carts
Director of Photography. “The camera’s focus assist feature allowed us to achieve
a sharp and clear image – this was especially helpful considering we were
shooting in strong sunlight.”
“We first realized
the benefit of the GY-HD100U’s focus assist when we watched the dailies at the
end of each shooting day,” said Cashman.
“To be able to see the amount of detail and color makes the production
come to life. The footage looks as
though we spent two times as much on the production. The image quality is truly amazing!”
“Filmmakers with small budgets are turning to the GY-HD100U
because the camera delivers production quality HD footage at a price that’s
affordable,” said Craig Yanagi, national marketing manager, creation products,
JVC Professional Products Company. “In addition to its affordable price point,
the camera is extremely portable and lightweight for challenging action shots
-- a necessity in today’s production environment.”

ABOUT CARTS
Carts is a combination of dark humor and blunt
honesty of what goes on in the world of customer service. The film follows a crew of cart attendants
who are serving out their sentences in purgatory and shows a glimpse of the
diverse personalities in society.
Something as simple as shopping at a store provides the forum to show
people’s lack of
manners, decency and humor.
The cast consists of Douglas Spain
from Band of Brothers, who will be playing the lead. Ted Lange from the Love Boat and Mo
Collins from The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Mad TV will be playing
supporting characters. For more
