Software Updates to Apple’s Final Cut Pro® and the DR-HD100 ProHD Hard Disk Recorder Provide ProHD Users Quickest and Easiest Workflow on the Market

Wayne, NJ (December 5, 2007) – JVC ProHD end-users are now able to shoot, edit and go to air faster than any other workflow in the industry. Apple’s update to Final Cut Pro 6.0.2 provides full native 60p editing support for JVC’s GY-HD250 and GY-HD200 ProHD camera users. With the DR-HD100 hard disk recorder latest version 3.0, ProHD users can record HDV 720 60p and 50p files and directly access files in Final Cut Pro version 6.0.2.

Broadcasters have been anxiously awaiting a seamless 60p direct file access workflow and once again JVC has played a significant role,” said Lon Mass, vice president of marketing for JVC Professional Products Company. “The combination of these products provides the fastest and most efficient HD shooting and editing available today. We’re grateful for the collaborative efforts between our engineering team, Apple and Focus Enhancements to make this solution possible.”

With JVC’s seamless direct file access ProHD users can record Apple QuickTime format directly onto hard disk, no file transfer or conversion is necessary. ProHD users can simply drag files directly into the Final Cut Pro 6.0.2 timeline. Apple Final Cut Pro 6.0.2 enables native editing of HDV720 format in 60p, 50p, 30p and 24p ProHD. And since files are not converted or transcoded, they retain their original native HD high quality throughout the workflow.

The DR-HD100 version 3.0, designed and built by Focus Enhancements to JVC specifications, adds auto-reel functionality to help streamline the production process by ensuring users can easily identify clips in the editing system. With auto-reel, users can assign clips to pre-named reel folders on disk. Once a reel is selected, all subsequent clips will automatically be placed in the same reel until the user selects a new clip or disables the auto-reel function.
