JVC ANNOUNCES REMOTE
ADMINISTRATION CAPABILITY
OF ITS NETWORK VIDEO
RECORDERS
WAYNE, NJ (October 29, 2008) –
JVC enhances its VR-N900U and VR-N1600U network video recorders
(NVRs) to offer remote administration capabilities, making JVC one
of the leading manufacturers to deliver this unique feature. Remote
access capability allows the administrator to log-in from any
Internet location using a secure access to configure any of the
networks’ cameras or recording system.
"The ability to remotely administer the
NVR is a feature that the industry has demanded. Remote
administration provides access to all the core features of the
cameras such as pre-sets and recording functions such as
scheduling,” said Geoff Anderson, national
marketing manager, Security Products, JVC Professional Products
Company. “The administrator may log in
from anywhere on the Internet and perform any configuration on
cameras such as automated tours or manage the powerful recording
system which provides many options for archiving video. We are
pleased to be one of the leading manufacturers of open architecture
embedded NVRs to provide this unique capability."
New functions include full support of JVC’s
VN-V25U, VN-V26U and VN-V686U IP-Network security cameras and the
ability to export data to an external DVD-R/RW drive. Other
enhancements include VR-DOU hard disk drive (HDD) recognition by
each HDD unit as well as alarm I/O support for the VN-C20 and
VN-C215 fixed IP-Network cameras.
The VR-N1600U 16-channel NVR features newly
developed software that supports bi-directional audio communication
and audio alert function for the VN-V26U which is a trigger to one
of five pre-recorded messages stored on the cameras memory. Added
features to the VR-N900U NVR include Network Attached Storage (NAS)
archiving and advanced audio functions such as recording audio
independent of camera input as well as continuous audio recording.
The VR-N1600U and VR-N900U NVRs have embedded
XProtect Enterprise software for reliable user-friendly operation
and guaranteed performance. These versatile NVRs can be integrated
into an enterprise network or as standalone units. The NVRs support
Motion JPEG/MPEG-4 camera recording and can export data to external
DVD-R/RW drive.
