JVC IP-NETWORK CAMERA LINE
EXPANDS
WITH THE LAUNCH OF THE VN-V686U
New Indoor Camera Features
36x Zoom Lens with Widest Range Pan Tilt Operation
LAS VEGAS, NV
(April 2, 2008) – JVC
brings market leading surveillance capabilities indoor with the
introduction of the VN-V686U Pan/Tilt/Zoom
(PTZ) network dome camera, following the
recent release of VN-V686WPU outdoor vandal and weather resistant
model. Developed for critical security applications, the VN-V686U
is the industry's most powerful and flexible PTZ camera to date,
combining the raw horsepower of JVC’s direct drive motor
technology with unparalleled image processing.
JVC product advantages stem from the core in
house technical disciplines in mechanical engineering, image
processing and software development which have led to the JVC's
direct drive pan/tilt motor silent operation with incredible
accuracy to 0.03°. Operation speed can be extremely fast, or
excruciatingly slow, meaning finding and tracking objects is much
easier. Additionally, the VN-V686U precisely maintains operator
assigned preset camera positions even after frequent panning and
tilting—especially important with its high zoom ratio.
The VN-V686U features 36x optical zoom lens
with a focal length of 3.4mm to 122mm, for crystal clear long-range
images. The optical zoom capability is complemented with an image
stabilization system based on an internal gyro instead of less
reliable digital image processing.
A powerful ¼-inch CCD with 380,000
pixels and full motion dual stream codec delivers both MJPEG and
MPEG4 streams simultaneously. MPEG4 images are ideal for monitoring
because they require less bandwidth and MJPEG images are recorded
for forensic purposes. True day/night operation is achieved with
the IR Cut Filter, delivering images in light levels as low as 0.04
lux.
Installation and maintenance are also
incredibly easy with the unique mechanical design from JVC, which
separates the network intelligence hardware from the camera hardware
with a hot swap removable camera head. In addition, a variety of
installation options are available from JVC for wall mount, recessed
ceiling mount or pendant mount using optional accessories.
“JVC’s technology prowess is evidenced in
the clear product direction incorporating our own core technologies.
The VN-V686U is packed with features such as the near silent direct
drive motor, 36x optical zoom with gyro controlled image
stabilization and dual stream codec, all in a camera designed for
fast, easy installation and maintenance, anchoring JVC’s
leadership role in the security industry,” said Geoff Anderson,
national marketing manager, Security Products, JVC Professional
Products Company. “The VN-V686U is truly a product that delivers
The Perfect Experience.”
The camera features a motion detection and
tracking function that outputs an alarm whenever movement is
detected within a pre-specified area of the image. The onboard
tracking function may be turned on by the operator to automatically
lock on to a moving object or person.
The VN-V686U is
currently available at a suggested list price of $2,549.
