JVC Announces New Broadcast Rep
Program
- LAS VEGAS, NV (April 14, 2008)
With the success of sales of the ProHD product line in the broadcast
arena, JVC is creating a new Broadcast Sales Rep (BSR) program
designed to serve broadcast networks and group station owners in the
United States. In announcing the new program, JVC Division Vice
President for Digital Video, Lawrence Librach says, “We feel it is
the appropriate time for JVC to introduce a direct-to-market
broadcast operation to best serve broadcast and production
organizations.
- The new JVC Broadcast Sales Rep program will
offer several key products not currently available through JVC's
dealer network. Those products include the award winning “Libre”
dockable camera-mounted microwave system. The BSR program will also
offer a special broadcast version of the successful GY-HD250, which
includes a newly developed LoLux feature, designed specifically for
broadcast ENG applications. LoLux is available to the market
exclusively through the new JVC Broadcast Rep program, and provides
ENG news crews with increased sensitivity in very low light
situations. Other products available to customers through the Rep
program include the DM-JV6000U HDTV encoder as well as the full
product complement available through the dealer channels.
- JVC has enjoyed direct market sales in HD ENG
and EFP and HD studio cameras with a growing user list that includes
Scripps Television Group, ABC Television Network and their owned
stations, FOX Sports Cable Network, Raycom Media, Waterman
Broadcasting and Weigel Communications. “Broadcasters have
unique needs,” says Librach. “We are expanding our initiative to
include a high level of competency only available through direct
broadcast reps.”
- “The introduction of ProHD provides an
extended set of features built on the HDV format exclusively for the
720P format, which we feel is the most beneficial format for many
reasons, including microwave transmission for local remotes for
broadcasters,” says Librach. “The outstanding picture quality
and feature set have provided JVC the opportunity to bring to market
a truly high quality and affordable HDTV production system. The new
BSR program allows us to best serve the growing broadcast interest
and implementation of ProHD.”
