JVC UNVEILS FIXED NETWORK
IP66 DOME CAMERA
WITH DUAL STREAM MPEG-4/M-JPEG
Wayne, NJ
(March 31, 2009) – JVC,
an industry leader in IP camera technology, extends its
award-winning V.Networks line with the VN-V225VPU
Fixed Network Dome Camera. Featuring dual stream MPEG-4 and Motion
JPEG images, exclusive JVC “Fine Adjust” focusing technology,
IP66 rated weather-proof and vandal-resistant design, Power over
Ethernet (PoE), and open architecture API for easy customization,
the VN-V225VPU is a durable network dome camera suited with features
for the most demanding environments.
JVC engineers designed the VN-V225VPU with an
array of features to suit any usage environment, including free
shape privacy masking, built-in motion detection, Verint API
compatibility, and a web based viewer/setup screen for quick setup
and monitoring. The open architecture API allows for wide
customization, bandwidth flexibility, and up to 20 simultaneous
users.
“Dual streaming MPEG4/MJPEG is a powerful
tool to regulate bandwidth on IP networks and JVC added all the
other critical features such as true day/night and vandal resistant
housing,” says Geoff Anderson, national marketing manger for
Security Products, JVC Professional Products Company. “But the
real novelty is JVC’s patent pending fine adjustment feature to
get the absolute clearest image from this VN-V225VPU.”
The VN-V225VPU employs a highly sensitive
1/4” progressive scan CCD with a built in 3.8x variable focus
lens, providing image resolutions up to 640x480.
With streaming of MPEG-4 full frame images at
30fps, the VN-V225VPU is ideal for monitoring smooth, high frame
rate images within a limited bandwidth. The VN-V225VPU also allows
for simultaneous streaming of Motion JPEG images, an added benefit
when high quality still pictures are required as evidence.
Bi-directional audio support allows for two-way
audio communication when a microphone and speaker are attached. This
not only provides the ability to communicate with people at the
camera’s location, but allows the capture of audio information
necessary for forensic evaluation.
True day/night operation is achieved in the
VN-V225VPU with
the IR Cut Filter to deliver images in light levels as low as 0.4
lux in color and 0.03 lux in black & white mode. Proper video
levels are ensured with an advanced AGC (Automatic gain control)
that optimizes picture quality at all times during the day. A day /
night function removes the IR filter and switches over to the black
and white mode at night.
The VN-V225VPU supports industry standard
Power over Ethernet (POE) for quick installation. Video, audio and
power are carried on a single Ethernet cable instead of separate
data and AC power cables. The robust IP66-standard dust-/waterproof
and vandal-resistant design makes the VN-V225VPU suitable for
outdoor monitoring systems. The optional
heater allows for operation in temperatures down to -30°C/-22°F.
The list price for the
VN-V225VPU is $999. The camera will
be available in April 2009. High-resolution
photos and color brochures are available on the JVC Web site at
