JVC UNVEILS 1.3 MEGAPIXEL
NETWORK IP66 MINI-DOME CAMERA
FOR CRITICAL SURVIELLENCE APPLICATIONS
Wayne, NJ
(March 31, 2009) – JVC,
an industry leader in IP camera technology, adds to its
award-winning V.Networks line with the introduction of the
VN-X235VPU Fixed Megapixel Network Dome
Camera. Featuring a 1.3 Megapixel High-Quality JPEG Stream with up
to Quad VGA (1280x960) resolution for precise monitoring and a
rugged, IP66 rated weather-proof, vandal-resistant design, the
VN-X235VPU is an outstanding surveillance solution when reliability
and accuracy are paramount.
The VN-X235VPU employs a highly sensitive
1/3” progressive scan CCD with 1.3 megapixels, enhanced by a 3.0x
variable focus lens. With its ability to provide images at up to
four times the resolution of conventional VGA cameras, the
VN-X235VPU delivers performance and peace of mind.
“With companies keeping a watchful eye on
their expenses in today’s economic climate, security has become
more critical than ever. Megapixel cameras offer wider coverage with
fewer cameras,” says Geoff Anderson, national marketing manger for
Security Products, JVC Professional Products Company. “At JVC,
we’re confident that we can offer both the dependability of a
first-rate surveillance solution and the ability to do so in manner
that is cost-effective for our customers.”
The dual stream capability of the VN-X235VPU
allows simultaneous streaming of both MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG images.
Motion JPEG image (Quad VGA/VGA/QVGA) is useful when you need to
record images as evidence data because of the high quality still
pictures it can provide. This increased visual information means a
face or a license plate can be identified even when enlarged by
digital zoom. MPEG-4 (VGA/QVGA) distribution is ideal for monitoring
smooth, high frame rate images within a limited bandwidth. The
VN-X235VPU allows you to select both compression format and
distribution size to accommodate your network’s bandwidth
requirements.
With bi-directional audio support, two-way
audio communication is possible when a microphone and speaker are
attached. This not only provides the ability to communicate with
people at the camera’s location, but allows the capture of audio
information necessary for forensic evaluation. The
digital PTZ function allows for 20 preset positions and with auto
patrol and auto return functions and an 8x digital zoom.
True day/night operation is achieved in the
VN-V235VPU with the IR Cut Filter to deliver images in light levels
as low as 0.8 lux in color and 0.08 lux in black & white mode.
Proper video levels are ensured with an advanced AGC (Automatic gain
control) that optimizes picture quality at all times during the day.
A day / night function removes the IR filter and switches over to
the black and white mode at night.
The VN-X235VPU supports industry standard
Power over Ethernet (POE) for quick installation. Video, audio and
power are carried on a single Ethernet cable instead of separate
data and AC power cables. The robust IP66-standard dust-/waterproof
and vandal-resistant design makes the VN-X235VPU suitable for
outdoor monitoring systems. The optional
heater allows for operation in temperatures down to -30°C/-22°F.
The camera will
be available in April 2009. High-resolution
photos and color brochures are available on the JVC Web site at
