JVC SHOWCASES NEW SUPER LOLUX HD CAMERAS,
NVRS WITH H.264 HIGH PROFILE SUPPORT AT ASIS 2011

WAYNE, NJ (September 19, 2011) – JVC Professional Products Company, a division of JVC Americas Corp., will showcase its new Super LoLux HD^TM line of V.Networks cameras and two new network video recorders at ASIS 2011 (Booth 2367), which runs Sept. 19-21 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

The 11 new camera models are equipped with CMOS imagers that output full HD resolution and offer multi-codec support, including M-JPEG, MPEG-4, and H.264. Ideal counterparts to the new Super LoLux cameras, the new VR-X1600U and VR-X3200U offer 16 and 32-channel recording, respectively, as well as support for 720p and 1080p full HD resolutions with multi-codec support.

“Many security camera manufacturers offer H.264 compression, but customers don’t see the storage and bandwidth savings they expected. That’s because H.264 Baseline or Main Profile compression schemes don’t deliver the efficiencies of H.264 High Profile, which we support with our Super LoLux cameras and new VR-X NVRs,” explained Ian Scott, vice president, JVC Security Group.

The new Super LoLux HD cameras deliver superior color reproduction, even in low light, and match the sensitivity of JVC’s well established CCD-based cameras. The new cameras also include new Clear Logic Video Intelligence (CLVI) image processing, which compensates for back lighting and digitally removes ambient fog, haze, rain and smoke.

There are entry-level, intermediate, and advanced models in the new Super LoLux HD product line, with a box style (less lens), indoor mini-dome, and outdoor dome camera available in each level. Each new camera is equipped with a 1/3-inch CMOS imager that can deliver up to 30 fps full frame rate, progressive HD images. Entry-level models provide 720p resolution, while intermediate and advanced models produce 1080p full HD images.

Other features include auto back focus, on-board recording to SD card, motion detection, privacy mask, and a variety of built-in video analytics features, including active tampering detection and audio detection. The cameras support ONVIF and PSIA standards for network cameras, as well as a wide variety of leading video management software (VMS) platforms, including Milestone Xprotect.

Equipped with built-in camera licenses with no recurring fees, as well as the latest versions of Milestone XProtect Enterprise and Windows Embedded OS, the VR-X NVRs offer enterprise-level, full HD recording and viewing for an unlimited number of NVRs, cameras, sites, and users. More than 1,000 different camera/encoder models can be supported by installing the latest Milestone device driver pack. A broad selection of software add-ons and third-party integrations, plus a fully documented SDK, are also available.

Both 3 RU VR-X NVRs ship with a pre-installed 1 TB drive. Three additional drives can be easily installed from the front panel for up to 4 TB of on-board storage. The NVRs also support RAID 1, 5, and 10, with optional support for RAID 6 technology. There is no front panel operation; instead, all controls are administrated locally through a mouse and keyboard using an external monitor or by a remote administrator on the network. A rear panel I/O offers alarm interface support.

The VR-X1600U and VR-X3200U will ship in October, while the Super LoLux HD cameras are expected to ship in late 2011.
