FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JVC
DEMONSTRATES LASER HYBRID WAYNE, NJ (Sept. 16, 2014) – JVC Professional Products Company, a division of JVC Americas Corp., will demonstrate its new BLU-Escent laser hybrid illumination projector technology at the 2014 Flight Simulator Engineering & Maintenance Conference (FSEMC), which runs Sept. 15-18 in Tulsa, Okla. Featured in JVC’s new DLA-VS2500 simulation projector, the technology offers lamp-free operation for significant operational cost savings. BLU-Escent uses blue laser diode modules to excite a yellow phosphor applied to a high-speed, rotating aluminum disc. Distributing the phosphor around the periphery of the disc allows for a large surface area of phosphor to be used for illumination, providing greatly extended lifetime. Additionally, the high-speed rotation of the aluminum disc allows for effective cooling of the phosphor. The system offers several advantages over lamp-based projectors, including more consistent colorimetry over time, greater output adjustment range, auto intensity control, longer optical system life and lower maintenance intervals. Its environmentally friendly technology is mercury-free and runs cooler than a lamp-based system. With a similar footprint to the DLA-VS2400 model introduced last year, the DLA-VS2500 maintains its brightness significantly better than traditional lamp-based projection systems and allows installation at any angle. The projector also features UHD (3840x2160) precision and intelligent smear reduction. JVC will officially introduce the DLA-VS2500 at I/ITSEC 2014 in early December in Orlando, Fla. “JVC is the first company to deliver a projector to the simulation market with laser hybrid illumination technology, which delivers very high performance and excellent contrast ratio. Finally, D-ILA image quality without the drawbacks of LED illumination technologies,” said Rod Sterling, chief engineer, JVC Technology Center. “With no bulb replacement required, the cost of ownership savings will be significant, particularly for government operations with demanding specifications in multi-screen applications.” ABOUT JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY Headquartered in Wayne, New Jersey, with West Coast operations in Long Beach, California, JVC Professional Products Company is a division of JVC Americas Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of JVC Kenwood Corporation.
