FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JVC DEMONSTRATES NEW PROHD
CAMERA WITH BUILT-IN IFB,
PLUS STREAMING AND FIBER
OPTIONS AT TAB 2016
- WAYNE, NJ (July 26,
2016) –
JVC
Professional
Video, a division of JVCKENWOOD USA
Corporation, will demonstrate its video-over-IP technologies,
including the JVC Private MESH
Video Network, and new studio fiber system at the Texas Association
of Broadcasters 63rd Annual Convention & Trade Show (Booth #56),
which runs Aug. 10-11, 2016, at the Renaissance Austin Hotel in
Austin. Texas. The company will also showcase its new GY-HM660 ProHD
mobile news camcorder with integrated IFB audio channels and its new
DT-N series of ProHD broadcast studio LCD monitors.
-
- “Video-over-IP has become a reality for
broadcasters, and JVC offers the reliable technology to improve
local news coverage and reduce dependence on microwave and satellite
technologies,” said Craig Yanagi, product marketing manager. “TAB
2016 is a great venue for us to demonstrate our latest ENG and
studio solutions to full-power and LPTV stations from across a
diverse group of markets.”
-
- The GY-HM660 is the industry’s first
streaming camcorder with integrated IFB, one channel for the camera
operator and a separate feed for talent. As a result, news teams can
communicate with the studio while streaming live HD reports from the
field. Designed for ENG, the GY-HM660 also features new CMOS image
sensors with improved F12 (60Hz) sensitivity for superior low-light
performance, as well as an integrated Fujinon 23x auto focus zoom
lens with a wide 29-667mm (35mm equivalent) focal range, three ND
filters, and manual zoom, focus, and iris rings.
-
- When paired with a 4G
LTE modem or hotspot, the camera’s
built-in video-over-IP technology delivers high-quality streaming
with a choice of resolutions, bit rates, and formats without a
backpack transmission system or external encoder. The GY-HM660 also
includes support for Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP), which
allows a direct connection to Ustream, YouTube, and other content
distribution networks (CDNs).
- To overcome public Wi-Fi and LTE network
congestion during sporting events, parades, and other demanding
field productions, the JVC Private MESH Video Network combines
Silvus MIMO technology with JVC field production cameras. The
network is built around the use of Silvus Transceiver Radios as
mobile MESH nodes. The self-managing, self-healing network makes the
best routing decisions automatically, and two-way communication
through the network allows unmanned cameras to be adjusted from
remote locations.
-
- Introduced earlier this year, JVC’s new
fiber studio system features a camera module built exclusively for
JVC by MultiDyne Video & Fiber-Optic Systems that connects
directly to the back of the GY-HM890 camcorder. The module
transports multiple bi-directional 3G-SDI signals as well as
control, audio, sync, and intercom between the camera and the FS-900
Base Station. Up to three cameras are supported by the Base Station,
which provides a more cost efficient solution than other
multi-camera solutions previously offered by JVC and other
manufacturers. Plus, with built-in gigabit Ethernet, the
lightweight, 2 RU Base Station also allows video-over-IP, control
and advanced configuration.
-
- Designed for studio or field use,
all three DT-N monitors – the 17.3-inch
DT-N17F, 21.5-inch DT-N21F, and 23.8-inch DT-N24F – feature a
1920x1080 full HD resolution LCD panel with LED backlighting that is
compatible with ITU-709 standard color space for HDTV broadcasting.
With a variety of video inputs, the monitors support 1080p, 720p,
1080i, 576i, and 480i formats, plus 2K (2048x1080p) that is
downsampled to full HD for display. Built-in tools include waveform
monitor, vectorscope, histogram, zebra stripes, peaking focus
assist, red/green/blue only display, picture freeze, and selectable
gamma preset, as well as three user profiles for easy image
customization.
