JVC and Drop Collaborate
To Launch New Audiophile-Quality Headphones

New in-ear monitors mark the return of JVC audiophile products to the US.

LONG BEACH, CALIF., December 19, 2019 – JVC and community-driven brand Drop today announced that they have teamed up to offer a new in-ear monitor (IEM) based on a popular high-end JVC IEM previously unavailable in the US.

The new Drop + JVC HA-FDX1 Dual Carbon IEM is a single dynamic driver IEM based on the JVC HA-FD01. It uses the same premium metal housing as the original, with new tunings based on Drop community preferences. Large 11-millimeter dynamic drivers deliver a clean, punchy sound, and to tailor the sound to suit individual tastes three pairs of newly developed stainless steel nozzles are included: one for the factory sound, and two that offer modified sound based on input from Drop users and the audiophile community. The pre-order run for the Drop + JVC HA-FDX1 received 5 out of 5 stars from audiophiles and was a sold-out success.

JVC is thrilled to be working with Drop on the reintroduction of our high-end headphones to the US market,” said Pat Koehn, vice president, JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation. “The Drop community is knowledgeable, demanding, and enthusiastic – precisely the type of users who will appreciate the design and engineering behind these new headphones.”

Based on signals and input from Drop’s engaged audiophile community, we’ve been focused on delivering new high-end Dynamic Driver IEMs to our users that are balanced and natural, with an articulate bass kick,” said Will Bright, Drop’s chief product officer. “We are thrilled to work with JVC to bring this storied brand back to the USA market, and into our lineup of enthusiast audiophile products.”

Key to the Drop + JVC HA-FDX1 Dual Carbon IEM’s performance is its construction. The driver diaphragm is composed of two different materials, each with a state-of-the art coating. First is the center dome with a diamond-like carbon coating, and second is the outer ring with a black-carbon coating. The result is high resolution and detail without the harshness and resonance found in other diaphragms. A robust stainless steel housing, the same used in the HA-FD01, protects the driver and gives the IEM a jewel-like look and feel.

Included are two stainless steel nozzles that can be swapped out to customize the sound to the user’s preference. One emphasizes detail and clarity, while the other highlights a smoother, warmer sound. What’s more, the IEM has a tangle-free cable and rotating nozzles that allow listeners to wrap the wires over the ear or wear them with the wires down.
Included with the IEM are three stainless steel removable J-type nozzles with different tuning, a carrying case with magnetic clasp, and a set of five spiral dot ear tips: small, medium/small, medium, medium/large and large.

The Drop + JVC HA-FDX1 Dual Carbon IEM is available now on Drop.com for $250.00.
