HIROTA APPOINTED NEW PRESIDENT OF JVC
PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS
COMPANY
Wayne,
NJ (July 1, 2004) — JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY
announced the appointment of Kirk Hirota as president and CEO. As
President, Mr. Hirota will continue to move the company’s
video creation, projection and surveillance products into new and
expanding markets and further capitalize on new technological
breakthroughs while overseeing all operational aspects of JVC
PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY. Mr. Hirota replaces the retiring Mike
Yoshida, who will be returning to Japan after serving as President
	from 2001-2004.

“We
are very pleased to have an executive of Mr. Hirota’s caliber
taking over as head of JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCT COMPANY,” said
Mr. Shigeharu Tsuchitani, Chairman, JVC Americas Corp. “He
brings with him vast experience in sales, product planning and
business development, and has shown that he has the strategic vision
needed to ensure JVC’s success in the professional products
marketplace. His industry knowledge, management skills and
leadership abilities will be of enormous value to JVC in the coming
	years.”

Though
Mr. Hirota is a newcomer to JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY, he
has more than twenty years experience with Victor Company of Japan,
JVC’s parent company, and a proven track record and leadership
abilities that will enable him to steer JVC into new territories.
Mr. Hirota most recently designed the united strategies for the
Victor Company of Japan’s multiple professional business
operations. He will employ his “big-picture” leadership
skills to help JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY continue delivering
innovative solutions within their key product categories by
capitalizing on the advancements in high definition (HD) and
Internet Protocol (IP) video transmission. A key element of his
strategy is to continue fostering industry-wide partnerships that
help spur affordable turnkey solutions, as evidenced at NAB 2004
with the announcement of more than 20 non-linear editing (NLE)
companies supporting the JVC JY-HD10U handheld HD camera.

“These technological advancements are creating significant additional benefits for customers who have been using our video products. This is quite a big opportunity for us and I believe JVC is well-positioned to lead its customers ahead into this new and challenging market,” said Hirota. “Since I joined the JVC division in April, I have come to recognize and admire the talent and professionalism of its employees. I welcome the opportunity to work with them as a team and lead the company to greater accomplishments.”
The
variety of assignments and the diversity of the business units Mr.
Hirota has worked for within the Victor Company of Japan has given
him tremendous insight and experience to help JVC PROFESSIONAL
PRODUCTS merge its different products and strategies into a united
one. As JVC forges ahead into the second half of 2004, increased
emphasis will be given to applying new technological advancements to
JVC’s established product families in order to open up new
opportunities for traditional customers and new markets. Mr. Hirota
is confident that JVC will challenge the conventional product
markets and develop and execute to meet end-user and market demand.
