FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Comdex Booth #L6235 Las Vegas, Nevada (COMDEX, November 15-19, 1999) JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY announced the worlds smallest Digital Network Imaging Camera with built-in multi-angle Pan/Tilt function, V-NETWORKS (VN-C2U), can capture and monitor digital images anywhere on the existing Local Area Network (LAN). Using JVCs exclusive viewer/controller software (included), the V-NETWORKS is manageable from various remote locations. Its extremely compact size and self-contained operations make V-NETWORKS very suitable and cost effective for a wide range of applications, especially those requiring remote monitoring such as corporate Intranet or industrial security operations. Combining CMOS image sensor, JPEG hardware compression, network communication and built-in multi-angle Pan/Tilt function, and fitting all into a compact and light body, V-NETWORKS will radically change the possibilities for easy network imaging. "JVCs V-NETWORKS camera is incredibly versatile due to its miniature size," said Jim Turner, Marketing Manager for JVC. "Our customers, who represent a wide range of industries from banking to retail to manufacturing to institutions are now able to monitor remote locations with the worlds tiniest digital network camera. In particular, the Pan/Tilt function which moves 160 degrees a second, makes the V-NETWORKS the perfect replacement for fixed-position security cameras." Key Features and Benefits Direct Network Connectivity JVCs V-NETWORKS connects directly to the existing Ethernet using a 10Base-T connection, viewing digital images on the network is very easy, quick and cost-effective. Viewer/Controller software (included) JVCs exclusive view/controller software (adapts to Windows95/98/NT) allows remote control of Multi-angle Pan/Tilt and other V-NETWORKS functions, as well as monitor JPEG images on the display. Multi-angle Pan/Tilt Built-in Small and fast Pan/Tilt function (160 degree/sec) also features Multi-Angle Directions allowing discreet placement in tight spaces while retaining mobility and wide field of view. Easy Remote Monitoring Using phones lines and traditional leased lines such as ISDN, T1, or T3, V-NETWORKS is an ideal solution for remote monitoring and viewing. Full Digital Signal Processing The latest CMOS image sensor digital output goes directly to the JPEG hardware compression and translates into network packet signal with IEEE 802.3. World standard makes it possible to capture, monitor and distribute full digital images anywhere on the network, and easily manipulate them using an existing image processing software in the market.
