JVC CONTINUES TO LEAD THE MARKET IN S-VHS

22-DX Series is the perfect complement to D-9

Las Vegas, NV (NAB, April 15-18, 1996) -- JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY continues to lead the industry in S-VHS editing systems with the 22-DX Series, JVC's top-of-the-line S-VHS editing series. By providing advanced features such as a Time Base Corrector (TBC), VITC/LTC Time Code Generator/Reader and Hadamard Digital Noise Reduction circuitry, JVC's 22-DX Series has put high-quality, professional-standard video editing within everyone's reach. The 22-DX Series consists of the BR-S822DX Editing Recorder, BR-S622DX Feeder/Recorder, BR-S525DX Variable-Tracking Feeder/Player with slow motion, and BR-S522DX Feeder/Player. Acquisition is provided by the BR-S422 Dockable Recorder. "With its component (Y, R-Y, B-Y) output and extraordinary video performance, the 22-DX Series is a perfect complement to JVC's new D-9 format," said David N. Walton, JVC's Communications Marketing Manager. "By `marrying' S-VHS to Digital- S, video professionals can utilize all of their existing S-VHS equipment and tape libraries, as well as economical S-VHS field cameras like the GY-X2B or the GY-X3, and still obtain extremely high quality through multiple generations at a fraction of the cost of component analog systems." All 22-DX decks are easily interfaced with other editing equipment through their built-in 9-pin RS-422A serial remote interface. A built-in TBC with component outputs allows a direct feed to Betacam SP* and D-9. Expansion boards are available as options for 45-pin or 33-pin control compatibility. "The 22-DX Series continues to be a steady seller and a consistent performer, and with the introduction of D-9, we anticipate continued growth in S-VHS sales," noted Walton. The 22-DX Series was designed to meet the most rigorous standards of all --television broadcasting. While Professional S- VHS's affordability and versatility make it suitable for a wide range of applications, television broadcasting is the true measure of how well a format holds up. Proof of JVC's 22-DX Series' quality is the fact that these editing decks have found their way into numerous mid-market stations, and even several top-50 market stations. JVC's 22DX series is widely considered to offer the best performance available in the S-VHS format. "Most users find it difficult to distinguish first generation from component analog," said Walton. By editing to D-9, that quality is unchanged through multiple generations. "With the S-VHS/D-9 combination, you have many more options in configuring a system. For instance, you could use the BR-S525DX as a source for dynamic tracking effects (fast and slow motion, or reverse playback) along with a BR-D85 editor with pre-read. That combination has more capabilities than many conventional A/B roll systems, but in a much easier-to-use economical package." The BR-S422 Dockable Recorder provides high-quality S-VHS acquisition for the 22-DX Series and other Professional S-VHS systems. With a quick response start mechanism and a compact and lightweight design, the BR-S422 is convenient to use and operate. "The 22-DX Series carries on JVC's tradition of providing advanced technological products that are humanly practical," noted Walton. JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY, based in Wayne, N.J., distributes a complete line of broadcast and professional equipment including video cameras, monitors, projecting recorders, and editing products.
