JVC INTRODUCES PORTABLE DLA-S15 SHORT-THROW D-ILA PROJECTOR
Las Vegas, NV (NAB, April 10-13, 2000) -- JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY announces an addition to its line up of D-ILA display technology with the debut of the DLA-S15.
With a 1:1 short-throw projection lens, ideal for rear projection, the DLA-S15 projector offers superb brightness of 1,500 ANSI Lumens, a 50% increase over its DLA-S10 counterpart. It also has an improved contrast ratio (350:1 vs. 250:1) compared with the S10.
The compact, portable DLA-S15 is ideal for rear-projection applications in well-lit conference or classrooms where it delivers bright images for easy viewing. The projector incorporates a high-performance, wide-angle 1:1 lens to provide accurate projection images.
JVCs DLA-S15 also offers the highest resolution (1365 x 1024) in its class with a wide range of input capabilities up to 82kHz (horizontal scan frequency). The DLA-S15 is the perfect display solution for any input source such as video, High Definition Television (HDTV) signals, and PC and workstation data and high-resolution graphics.
The Direct-Drive Image Light Amplifier, or D-ILA device, is an original development by JVC and an extension of the Image Light Amplifier (ILA®) that was developed by JVC through its Hughes-JVC subsidiary specifically for large-screen theatrical venues. This unique technology has revolutionized the small to medium projector market, offering brightness, resolution and picture quality previously available in only high-end theatrical or CRT-based projectors.
Using a C-MOS-based reflective liquid crystal light valve upon which the image is written directly by the driving IC, JVCs D-ILA projector is able to produce images with an unparalleled combination of color, contrast, brightness and resolution. Its silky smooth picture, the signature of D-ILA technology, is created by a very high aperture ratio of more than 93%.
With the DLA-S15 short-throw projector, JVC provides leading image quality in a compact, portable, cost-effective unit. The projector is now available with a list price of $17,995 with 3 year warranty on parts and labor.
