JVC INTRODUCES CAMERA SWITCHER FOR COLOR VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS

Wayne, NJ...JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY has introduced the SW-C300U camera switcher that provides versatile control of up to four JVC TK-895U color video cameras that are each connected via a single cable.

The SW-C300U provides all the features and rugged construction necessary for long-term reliable performance, including automatic sequential camera switching including skip function, variable switch timing, manual override for camera switching, and independently adjustable white balance for each camera.

In addition to controlling three TK-895U cameras, the SW-C300U can control an additional TK-895U used for motion-detection, via a separate terminal. Sensitivity, detection area, and position of this camera can be adjusted independently. When the camera detects motion, the switcher generates an alarm signal.

The SW-C300U also allows each of the other cameras to be alarmed. For example, if door-jamb switches are connected to the SW-C300U, the unit will override its normal camera-selection sequence when the door is opened, and switch directly to the camera monitoring the door. The SW-C300U simultaneously generates an alarm signal. If another switch is activated, the camera monitoring this area becomes the priority camera, and the unit switches from the camera that generated the previous alarm.

When used with JVC's BR-S9000U time-lapse VCR, the switcher will display camera number and current time using signals supplied from the VCR. It will also allow camera switching via signals supplied by the VCR. With an optional cable, sequential switching of up to eight cameras is possible when an additional switcher is connected in series. The SW-C300U also offers genlock operation with an external sync signal, external clock input, adjustable alarm time, input for pan and tilt controller, and rack mounting with optional rack-mount kit.
