Las Vegas, NV (INFOCOMM, June 13 - 15, 2001) -- JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY introduces an advanced, 50-inch, high-contrast, superbright plasma display panel, the GD-V500PZU, with an exceptionally sharp and crisp picture quality, ideal for High Definition display. The GD-V500PZU 50-inch plasma display monitor offers a best-in-class high contrast image ratio of more than 3,000:1 for distortion-free image reproduction in an ultra slim space-saving unit measuring only 3.9 inches thick (98 mm).
Measuring 50-inches diagonally and featuring a widescreen cinema-like aspect ratio, the GD-V500PZU makes a commanding statement where a large screen application is desired. The GD-V500PZU comes in a brushed silver cabinet.
JVC's GD-V500PZU, with 1366 x 768 pixels, uses a full 24-bit RGB driver to deliver extraordinary picture quality. Boasting a brightness of 300cd/m2,
it presents an especially sharp, crisp picture for virtually any video or computer application. The GD-V500PZU plasma display panel's built-in RGB input allows direct computer hookups for multimedia presentations. It supports up to UXGA (1600 x 1200) PC input resolution with no distortion by compressing the display image over XGA resolutions. In addition, it can accept any standard television signal, including NTSC,NTSC 4.43, PAL, PAL 60 and SECAM, as well as popular HDTV and DTV signals, including 1080i, 1080P/24, 720P, 576/50i, 480P and 480i. For audio, there are 6 ohm external speaker terminals. Matching slim-profile external speakers are optional.
Standard video signals are displayed in a noninterlaced mode to eliminate flicker and provide super clarity. The GD-V500PZU's totally flat screen produces no distortion or unevenness in pictures at the corners and edges. Continuous tone and vibrant color are achieved through the use of 256 "gray-scale" levels each for red, green and blue color, resulting in a display total of 16.77 million different colors.
The GD-V500PZU plasma display panel features color temperature presets for normal, cool and warm settings, and is adjustable in a range from 11,000K to 6,500K.
The GD-V500PZU plasma display panel can be controlled by an infrared wireless remote control, or, for added functionality, it also features a built-in RS-232C connection for computer control.
