FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW DIGITAL TV MONITORS FROM JVC OFFER TRUE MULTI-FORMAT DISPLAY AND AUDIO MONITORING LAS VEGAS, NV (April 19, 2004) - JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY is pleased to announce the addition of its new DT-V1710CGU/DT-V1910CGU high definition (HD) digital TV (DTV) monitors to their comprehensive line of HD display products. Switchable to HD or standard definition (SD) with three expansion slots that can accommodate any combination of input cards, JVC’s multi-format monitors are incredibly versatile. The inclusion of audio monitoring capabilities lets producers and broadcasters confirm sound performance, making the DT-V1710CGU/DT-V1910CGU true single-monitor solutions. Through the increased use of expansion slots, customers can build multi-format functionality into their display units as needed, achieving both HD and SD monitoring at a reasonable price. The DT-V1710CGU/DT-V1910CGU HD DTV monitors can be populated with any combination of analog, SDI or HD-SDI cards, letting customers support most formats available in the marketplace, including HD, SD, NTSC, PAL, 480p, 1080i, 720p or 24pSF cinema configurations. “Adaptability is key for many commercial applications, and the new JVC monitors are incredibly accommodating to offer a single-monitor solution,” said Edgar Shane, product manager of JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY. “Multi-format functionality and the audio level monitoring capability make the DT-V1710CGU/DT-V1910CGU HD DTV flexible and future-proof as well as a good investment. Customers can modify the monitor to their changing display needs and address audio issues rather than add another display or separate audio unit to their lineup.” Monitoring audio levels on screen is an important new and desired feature for producers and broadcasters that gives them confirmation that audio is being broadcast. When activated, the DT-V1710CGU/DT-V1910CGU audio monitoring features display the audio levels from the audio embedded in the SDI and HD -SDI on the screen, generating audio level meters that move back and forth with the sound. Without having to add another component to their systems, any studio, broadcast facility, remote video truck or video transmission locationcan monitor audio levels to ensure sound is being broadcast of acceptable quality and quickly address audio issues should they arise. The DT-V1710CGU/DT-V1910CGU HD DTV monitors feature natural flat CRTs with user-selectable standard 4:3 or wide 16:9 variable aspect ratios. Horizontal resolution delivers more than 900 TV lines for well-defined pictures. The units provide three input/output option card bays that can be populated with up to three I/O modules, including; Composite Video, Y/C, Analog Component, RGB/RGBHV, SD-SDI, HD-SDI, with associated audio support. Both units offer rack-mountable configuration, perfect for mobile applications, post-production, facility quality control and monitoring use. On-screen, menu-driven operation makes the DT-V1710/1910CGU ideal for a wide range of professional applications. This easy-to-operate menu provides quick access to many features, including aspect ratio select, color temperature select and white balance adjustment. Memory storage and recall is an added benefit that provides instant recall to achieve the desired picture setting. Control lock is another feature that prevents accidental changes during production. In addition the DT-V1710/1910CGU features wired/wireless remote and tally. The DT-V1910/1710CGU utilizes a high voltage/deflection separation circuit, constant current feedback for anti-blooming and multi-format video capability.
