NEW JVC GY-DV300REM CAMCORDER OFFERS UNIQUE REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONALITIES

WAYNE, NJ (April 7, 2003) - JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY today announced the availability of the GY-DV300REM handheld camcorder.  The GY-DV300REM is an enhanced version of the GY-DV300U that provides RS-232C remote control over iris, zoom and focus as well as remote camera-parameter adjustment capabilities, unique features that surpass all competitors.  This new model is fully compatible with the Varizoom "VZ-300" as well as JVC's own Pan/Tilt system for additional flexibility and power.

"The advances in the GY-DV300REM open this camcorder to enormously important applications," explained Juan Martinez, product manager for JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY.  "The ability to control the iris, for instance, is a considerable advantage in a studio configuration.  In addition, the GY-DV300REM offers extremely smooth camera lens controls in any setting."

The remote control with zoom and focus preset capabilities of the GY-DV300REM make it the ideal pan and tilt camera for city council rooms, places of worship, educational institutions or any other installations requiring remote control.  With its zoom and focus presets, for multiple views stored in its memory the pan and tilt controllers can easily aim the camera repeatedly at multiple specific preset locations or people?s positions within the room.  With the push of a button the pan & tilt controller properly adjusts pan, tilt, zoom and focus on the target, capabilities not offered on any other handheld camcorder.

A snap-on RS-232C adapter plate provides connection for external remote controllers.  It can be easily removed when not needed, allowing users to connect the optional KA-DV300U network adapter for Web streaming.

All of these unique capabilities are in addition to the high-performance features of the GY-DV300U.  This 3-CCD camcorder records to DV tape while streaming or onto a CF card and has built-in MPEG-4 streaming capabilities in addition to other professional-standard functions.

Existing GY-DV300U users can have their camcorder converted to the GY-DV300REM model for a modest price. JVC Professional Dealers can provide additional details on the conversion.
