JVC'S NEW SR-VS20U DUAL FORMAT S-VHS/MiniDV RECORDER OFFERS EXCELLENCE IN EDITING AND VIEWING
Powerful Double Deck is an Indispensable Video Production Tool

Las Vegas, NV (NAB, April 23-26, 2001) -- JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY is helping broadcasters and professional videographers edit and dub between formats more easily and economically with the launch of a new, fully-featured SR-VS20U dual-format editing VTR that records and plays both MiniDV and S-VHS cassettes in a single unit.

JVC's new SR-VS20U is perfect for post-production facilities, video production studios, newsrooms, educational, corporate and industrial applications. This dual-purpose VTR was specifically built to help professionals toggle between formats and particularly to support the video industry's most widely used formats--MiniDV and S-VHS. This breakthrough VTR offers "One-Touch" dubbing without cables between the MiniDV and S-VHS/VHS formats, with the touch of a single button. The SR-VS20U also allows editing or dubbing to or from either format quickly and easily. Additionally, an IEEE 1394 input/output allows most MiniDV camcorders to connect digitally to the SR-VS20U for simple, economical and artifact-free DV-to-DV edits.

Random Assemble Editing Feature

JVC's new SR-VS20U Dual Deck VTR is designed to offer easy spooling to and from today's wide variety of non-linear editing systems. The units outstanding picture quality and robust tape transport mechanism makes this a versatile post-production tool.

Especially important is JVC's new Random Assemble Editing feature, which allow users to pre-select up to 8 segments for automatic assembly and dubbing. Best of all, since up to 8 pre-set programs can be stored in memory, this function lets users file the information of 64 segments (8x8) in the deck to make additional copies later by simply calling up the program number.

"With the versatile SR-VS20U, JVC continues to meet the needs of producers and broadcasters, alike. This Dual-deck is an economical method to playback and dub DV footage," explained J. Lee Thompson, Product Manager, Cameras and VTRs of JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY. "JVC has effectively helped customers to bridge between the world's two most sought-after formats."

This next generation deck is the sought-after replacement for JVC's popular SR-VS10.
