WAYNE, NJ (February 4, 2002) - JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY today released Streamcorder, its new professional camcorder, the GY-DV300 and its companion KA-DV300U network package, to open new paradigms in the visual communications process. Streamcorder is a hand-held broadcast quality camera with the ability to record to tape, as well as to record to digital memory or simultaneously stream to the Internet.

The launch of JVC's Streamcorder is the first of its kind in professional broadcast cameras that are Internet capable. Streamcorder's creation is JVC's initiative to the increasing use of streaming video on the Web. JVC's GY-DV300 is a dual-purpose camcorder, fully functioning as a professional camera, and ready to meet the demands of professionals in need of streaming and wireless applications.

The camera's innovative design was developed to have everything at users' fingertips. The GY-DV300 has control over image including an optical image stabilizer, zoom through a wide-angle adapter and is manually controllable with a 14:1 power zoom lens. The camera has full flexibility of a color matrix where users can change the gamma, manual control of the iris, up to 32 pixels blemish correction, two XLR microphone inputs and adjustable zebra from 75 to 100.

The KA-DV300 network package attaches to the bottom of the camcorder with connection for a LAN card or CF card, permitting full end-user control over all camera functions from a remote location. In addition, the network package has a microprocessor running LINUX, enabling communications with a computer running JVC's Stream producer software, a companion live camera switcher/streaming server, included in the network package. The network package, available separately or bundled with the GY-DV300U, includes an integrated fully functional Web server, permitting an end-user full control over the camera, lens, VCR and ability to stream live to a distant location by just using a standard Web browser.
