Orlando, FL (September 12, 2005) – JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY continues to expand its growing line of V.Networks security solutions with the introduction of the VN-E4U, a four-channel encoder developed to accommodate systems integrators converting analog camera systems to IP surveillance systems.

An ideal component for air and seaport surveillance as well as building and traffic observation, the VN-E4U’s input capability enables facilities to connect up to four cameras to one encoder, reducing overall systems costs and operations. Its motion-JPEG image output provides resolutions of up to 640 x 480 pixels with a maximum frame rate of 30fps. The VN-E4U encoder also features a motion detection function that automatically indicates motion in a specified area of the screen as well as a built-in two-way audio function.

“The addition of the VN-E4U encoder to the JVC lineup of IP products provides customers with quality, high resolution full motion images for which JVC is known and reduces the overall system cost to the end user,” said Melissa Viviano, National Marketing Manager, Surveillance Products for JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY. “In addition, this encoder overcomes image quality issues faced by other products on the market.”

The encoder’s built-in Web server allows you to connect your surveillance system directly to the Internet without having to route it through a dedicated computer. This feature allows you to deliver high quality, live images to multiple computers via the Internet anywhere in the world. The VN-E4U also features multi-casting capability, which enables you to access video images on any monitor and system on your network with virtually no frame rate degradation when accessed by multiple users.

The VN-E4U is also equipped with two switchable RS-232C/485 ports that allow for remote control operation of the camera’s pan and tilt or other devices as well as a pre/post alarm recording function.
