26-INCH FS PICTURE TUBE. Large-screen TVs are becoming more and more popular and in greater demand nowadays. The AV-2676's 26- inch FS (Full-Square) picture tube assures as much image reproduction as possible by having squarer corners that avoid loss of picture and information (especially in the case of super- imposed texts) along the edges of the large-scale screen.

S-MARK II CHASSIS: THE KEY TO THE 560-LINE RESOLUTION. The S- Mark II chassis, around which the AV-2676 is built, has a much denser integration of advanced circuits that, combined with the FS data-grade picture tube with a dot pitch of 0.795 mm, gives you sharper, more vivid pictures with greater color fidelity than you've ever seen before - expressed in terms of a remarkable horizontal resolution of 560 lines (with composite video signal input).

Circuitry improvements for the S-Mark II chassis include JVC- developed chrominance ICs, a wide-band delay line for video signals, an improved CRT drive circuit using a cascade amp with 2 transistors, a a wideband comb filter which electronically separates video signals into chroma and luminance components,- these all contribute to frequency response improvement, the most important factor influencing picture quality. For the AV-2676, this means pictures with outstanding brilliance, more color on the screen and a 560-line horizontal resolution that renders superlative definition and clarity.

3 AV INPUTS. The AV-2676 is specifically designed to be the centerpiece of a comprehensive home AV system. To achieve this, convenient input terminals are provided for connection of up to 3 different video sources such as a VCR, videodisc player, etc. Switching among these 3 inputs is possible via remote control.

LINE OUTPUT TERMINALS. A set of line output terminals is provided for delivering video and audio signals of the picture being viewed on the AV-2676's screen. This can be especially convenient for quick, easy connection of a second VCR to edit tapes.

VARIABLE AUDIO OUTPUT TERMINALS. This independent set of audio terminals is designed for connecting an audio system for Hi-Fi Audio level output from the connected system can be adjusted via the remote control.

"THROUGH OUT" CONVENIENCE. A "Through Out" function (bridged connection) is possible with the front panel AV input and the rear panel "INPUT 3" jacks. Signals can be delivered in either direction.

EXTERNAL SPEAKER CONNECTORS. A set of left/right-channel connectors allows for easy, direct connection of a pair of external stereo speakers. This provides even greater sonic realism.

TV/VCR UNIFIED REMOTE CONTROL. In order to enhance the convenience in system flexibility of the AV-2676 NETWORK TV, the provided remote control unit operates both TV and connected VCR (specific JVC VCRs only). All major functions of the AV-2676, and VCR can be controlled with easy, convenient pushbutton operation from this single, handy unit.

MTS/SAP COMPATIBILITY. A growing number of areas today are offering stereo and bilingual broadcasts. The AV-2676 incorporates an MTS (Multichannel Television Sound) decoder to receive TV programs that are broadcast in 2-channel stereo or programs like these that are accompanied with main and SAP (Second Audio Program) programs. In addition, a built-in left/right-channel speaker system provides full enjoyment of stereo programs. Adjustable sound reflectors allow for directing the sound for optimum listening pleasure.

CABLE COMPATIBILITY. Considering the immense popularity of cable TV, with a 142-channel frequency synthesizer tuner built in, the AV-2676 has a capacity of direct reception of cable broadcasts; Sub-Mid, Mid, Super and Hyper bands, in addition to all regular VHF and UHF channels. No need for converters or extra switching devices for viewing regular cable channels.

DUAL RF INPUT. Moreover, 2 antenna input terminals for simultaneous connection and easy switching via remote control between two RF sources such as a regular TV antenna and pay-TV decoder for scrambled cable channels are a welcome convenience. Ideal for future subscription to pay-TV services.

CONVENIENT SLEEP TIMER. The AV-2676 incorporates a sleep timer allowing for automatic TV switch-off after a predetermined time of up to 3 hours. This time can be preset in 10-minute increments, and the remaining time indications can be displayed on the screen.

EE AUTO. Automatically adjusts picture contrast, brightness and color in relation to ambient lighting for optimum easy-on-the-eye viewing and reduction of power consumption.

ADVANCED ON-SCREEN DISPLAY. Pushbutton operation with the remote control calls up various items of the AV-2676's operating status in 3 different colors on the screen; channel number, broadcast mode, MAIN and SAP modes, video source, audio level (in digits from 00 to 50 and with a bar scale representing 5 steps per bar) and sleep timer setting.

3-WAY TUNING OPTION. With so many available channels for viewing, a number of tuning options make channel selection exceedingly fast and precise.

CHOICE TUNING. Presets 3 favorite channels for instant pushbutton selection.

AUTO CHANNEL-UP TUNING. Continuous visual scanning of the entire waveband in ascending order until the channel you wish to view appears on the screen.

RETURN TUNING. Makes alternate switching between the 2 most recently selected channels a simple pushbutton affair.

EDGER CIRCUIT. For sharper pictures, especially detailed or minute texts or graphics.

SKEW SWITCH. Corrects distorted, or skewed portion of the picture whenever present.

DISC SWITCH. To accomodate playback of VHD videodiscs of any TV standard.
