JVC PRESS RELEASE JVC EXPANDS ITS MINIATURE 3-CCD CAMERA LINE WITH THE KY-F32

Wayne, NJ (October 1, 1996) -- Building on the success of its popular KY-F55B, JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY developed the KY-F32, a highly sensitive 1/2-inch, 3-CCD color camera with superior picture quality and wider lens interchangability.

Only slightly larger than the KY-F55B and weighing just 1.9 pounds, the KY-F32 is a multipurpose camera with a 1/2-inch standard bayonet lens mount. This mount enhances versatility because it makes the camera compatible with a variety of professional lenses, opening the door to a broad range of remote observation applications, including broadcast, scientific, telecommunications and surveillance applications. In addition, negative video output capability makes this the perfect camera for photographic and film applications. The KY-F32 is competitively priced at $5,000 and is currently available. Comparatively, the KY-F55B is priced at approximately $4,100.

The KY-F32 offers 750 lines of horizontal resolution and a high signal-to-noise ratio of 60dB for broadcast picture quality. Featuring three IT 1/2-inch CCDs with microlenses, each with 380,000 effective pixels, the KY-F32 achieves a high sensitivity of F 9.5 at 2,000 lux and a minimum illumination of 6 lux.

All key functions are adjustable with simple menu-driven operation, or can be set to full automation for unattended operation, making this camera very easy to set up and operate. Additionally, external remote control capability for the camera and lens is available through an optional mount remote control panel, or through a computer's RS-232 serial interface.

"This camera does not replace the KY-F55B, which is perfect for applications where very compact 3 CCD cameras are needed," said Andy Berger, product manager. "We introduced the KY-F32 to address the need for a more sophisticated and broader application general purpose camera at a very attractive price."

"Remote broadcast observation cameras are becoming increasingly popular," said David Walton, JVC's communications marketing manager. They're relied upon heavily for weather, traffic and sportscasts. Because the KY-F32 provides a standard 1/2-inch bayonnet lens mount, the highest sensitivity of any camera this size, and provides exceptional picture quality even in marginal lighting conditions, it is ideal for broadcast remote applications."

JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY, located in Wayne, New Jersey, distributes a complete line of broadcast and professional equipment including cameras, monitors, projectors and editing products. For more information about the KY-F32, contact David Walton at 1-800-JVC-5825. ###
