JVC INTRODUCES NEW RM-P275 TRIAXIAL SYSTEM FOR 16:9 PRODUCTION

Las Vegas, NV (NAB, April 10 – 13, 2000) -- To support the industry’s march to widescreen production and broadcasting, JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY has launched the RM-P275, a new Triaxial system capable of accommodating both 16:9 widescreen image signals in addition to the traditional 4:3. The RM-P275 is designed specifically for use with JVC’s existing camera line. The RM-P275 joins JVC’s RM-P270 4:3 aspect ratio Triaxial system in JVC's extensive product line-up.

This new RM-P275 Triaxial system supports 16:9 wide image signals by incorporating a new wide band transmission circuit with a 12 MHz for luminance signal. Significantly, the RM-P275 utilizes a component transmission system, making it the perfect match with JVC’s 50 Mbps D-9 Digital Component VTRs for field recording of sports.

The RM-P275 unit is packed with a wealth of important and useful features, including Gen-lock circuit, Video level control, Intercom, and tally. Outputs signals attainable through the RM-P275 include component, Y/C and composite.

The maximum distance between camera and the RM-P275 Triaxial unit is 800 meters when using standard 8.6mm Triaxial cable. All necessary camera controls are available via JVC’s optional remote control panels, the RM-LP35 or the RM-LP37.

The RM-P275 is designed to work with JVC’s stable of field ENG cameras, notably the renowned KY-27, the KY-D29 digital signal processing camera, and the KY-D29W switchable aspect ratio DSP camera.

JVC has a wealth of experience in providing high-end solutions to filed producers, and has a long history of providing cost effective system in this market. By meeting increasing demands for 16:9 content with the superior picture quality of component recording, the KY-D29W and RM-P275 combination together with JVC’s renowned D-9 VTRs provide customers a logical and effective step into the DTV era.
