 Las Vegas, NV (NAB, April 10-13, 2000) — JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY announces the availability of a new extremely compact, portable, high-resolution 4.5-inch Liquid Color Crystal Shutter (LCCS) monitor, the TM-L450TU. Debuted as a technology demonstration at NAB '99 where it received a prestigious "Pick Hit of Show" from TV Technology Magazine, this four and one half-inch, rack-mountable monitor is ideal for ENG field production, video production trucks, and any venue where a bright environment hinders the viewing of a CRT, such as field production, outdoor applications and surveillance situations.

JVC’s newest field monitor is based on Liquid Color Crystal Shutter technology that utilizes a combination of a black and white CRT with a color LCD shutter. Unlike conventional CRT monitors that use three electron guns (RGB) to produce a color image, JVC’s new LCCS monitor uses one black and white CRT, which is merged with a liquid crystal color shutter, providing incredible sharpness. The result is a highly functional color monitor that delivers a sharp image in even the brightest sunlight, without misconvergence or annoying moiré patterns.

The TM-L450TU monitor's basic structure approximates the way the human eye gathers light. By utilizing the single electron gun aimed through red light, green light and blue light filters, each separated by a liquid crystal shutter, the LCCS monitor delivers an extraordinary natural picture, with richness and fullness of color, as well as superb resolution.

Liquid color crystal shutter technology is utilized to aim a CRT electron beam through a series of angle-controlled polarized films, achieving exceptional brightness, high resolution and superior chroma. The result is a four and one half-inch monitor that delivers more than 400 TV lines of resolution and vivid color reproduction. This unique configuration of the TM-L450TU also results in no color after image and no color shift in wide angle.

The TM-L450TU LCCS monitor also offers strong resistance to sunlight making it the perfect choice for ENG field production even in direct sunshine.
