FOR NAB 1987
JVC INTRODUCES NEW LINE OF THREE CHIP COLOR CAMERAS
At NAB 1987 Booth 3180, the Professional Video
Communications Division of JVC COMPANY OF AMERICA will
introduce a new series of solid state cameras incorporating
three charged couple devices (CCDs) housed in a lightweight,
diecast aluminum body designed to resist the rigors of field
production.
At the heart of this series is a newly designed CCD which
incorporates the latest technology in solid state pick-up
devices. By incorporating current technology, JVC engineers
have been able to develop a CCD camera which reaches a level
of performance higher than previously available to video
professionals.
The KY-20U is a self-contained full function component or
NTSC camera which is for ENG or studio applications requiring
a large viewfinder and remote camera control. An MII docking
VCR can be attached to the KY-20U by replacing the standard
camera adaptor with an optional MII format adaptor.
AN EXTENSION OF THE JVC CAMERA LINE
The design of this series follows the philosophy of other
JVC color camera innovations. Included are such features as
an IQ encoder, RS-170A type SSG, 2H vertical contour circuit,
color matrix circuit, gen-lock circuit, and most important,
the component output signal.
With a S/N ratio of 56 dB, a resolution of more than 530
Iines for all channels, and a registration error of less than
0.5 percent in all zones, these new cameras feature
performance that makes them ideal for VCR recording as well as
providing RGB input for image processing systems. The minimum
illumination required is 23 lux (2 fc) using the standard 13X
lens when gain is boosted to +18 dB.
Auto-setup and self-diagnostic make these new cameras
easy-to-operate and user-friendly. Stereo audio inputs are
provided for use with the newest portable VCRs from JVC,
including the new MII portable recorder.
