September 18, 1987 JVC INTRODUCES NEW LINE OF ONE CHIP COLOR CAMERAS

Wayne, NJ...JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY has introduced a new line of solid state color cameras, the BY-10 series. This series incorporates a single 2/3-inch charged coupled device (CCD) housed in a lightweight, diecast aluminum body designed to resist the rigors of field production.

THE BY-10 SERIES IS AVAILABLE IN TWO CONGIFURATIONS

Model # BY-R10UL11 is packaged as a field docking camera. This allows the JVC docking/portable VCR, Model # BR-S410U to be used in conjunction with this camera for full camcorder applications. With the addition of the optional KA-10U camera adaptor the BY-R10UL11 becomes a full function S-VHS component or NTSC composite camera.

Model # BY-10UL11 is packaged as a field camera and includes the KA-10U camera adaptor. This adaptor makes this camera a self- contained, full function component (S-VHS) and composite NTSC color camera. By simply removing this adaptor, the BR-S410U docking/portable VCR can be mounted directly to the camera for full camcorder applications. At the heart of this BY-10UL11 series is a newly designed CCD which incorporates the latest technology in solid state pickup devices. By incorporating current technology, JVC engineers have developed a single CCD camera which reaches a level of performance higher than that previously available to video professionals.

AN EXTENSION OF THE JVC CAMERA LINE

The design of this series follows the philosophy of other JVC color camera innovations. Included are such features as separate Y/C output (7 pin), genlock circuit, 2H vertical contour circuit, negative video (composite only), and status and warning display.

With a S/N ratio of 50 dB, and a resolution of more than 450 lines at center, these new cameras feature performance that makes them ideal for VCR recording as well as providing RGB for image processing systems. The minimum illumination required is 10 lux (1 fc) using the standard 11X lens when gain is boosted to +18 dB.

Auto white with two-memory setup and self-diagnostics in V/F make these new cameras easy-to-operate and user-friendly. Stereo audio inputs are provided for use with the newest JVC portable S-VHS VCRs like Model # BR-S410U.
