Excellent Picture Quality
The KY-210B boasts extremely high picture quality. With a
horizontal resolution of 750 TV lines (Gch, center) and a high
signal to noise ratio of 58 dB, the KY-210UB is suitable for
nearly any application requiring high quality images. Its low
light capabilities (minimum illumination required is only 32 lux
at +18dB, f/1.4) make it especially suitable for environments
where additional lighting is impractical. The sharp, noise-free
image is obtained through a variety of technologies:
HR EM SATICON TUBES. By the use of high-precision assembly
technology, the colimation lens has a 10% larger diameter
than in conventional lens assemblies. High-voltage operation
(1400v) improves center resolution as well as uniformity of
resolution over entire screen. Shading characteristics are
also reduced considerably by the fine pitch of the
rectangular mesh (20% denser than with conventional tubes).
f/1.4 PRISM OPTICAL SYSTEM. The f/1.4 prism optical system,
together with the quartz filter which improves picture
quality with polarized lighting, improves sensitivity.
DYNAMIC FOCUS CIRCUIT. The corner resolution is also
improved by a dynamic focus circuit.
H CONTOUR CORRECTION CIRCUIT WITH LEVEL DEPEND. Picture
sharpness and color reproduction are further improved by the
level depend circuit with 2H contour circuit. As with any
enhancement, a certain amount of noise is also amplified. To
eliminate this under low light condition, a level depend
circuit which controls the enhancement is provided so that
the pictures produced are sharp and well defined, yet quiet
even when the gain is boosted.
COLOR MATRIX MASKING CIRCUIT. To make the color reproduction
as natural as possible, a color matrix masking circuit is
used. The function of this circuit is to make the pickup
characteristics of the camera identical to those of the human
eye, by compensating for the negative energy portion of the
ideal color characteristics.
WIDE DYNAMIC RANGE. With superior processing circuitry, the
slope circuit compresses video levels of 300% to 110% so that
gradation in highlight sections are greatly improved.
NAM TYPE SERVO IRIS CIRCUIT. "NAM" is an acronym for
Non-Additive Mix. With this circuit, the highest signal
from the R.G.B signals is applied. This type of iris circuit
(including a weighted detection circuit) improves pictures
taken outdoors in very bright sunlight, by placing greater
emphasis on the illumination of the subject in the lower part
of the frame.
The KY-210B uses the same design philosophy as broadcast cameras!
SSG CIRCUIT CONFORMING TO RS-170A BROADCAST STANDARD. The
sync generator uses newly developed IC and VCTCXO (Voltage
controlled temperature compensation X'tal oscillation) and
conforms to RS-170A broadcast standard.
COLOR FRAMING PULSE. Editing of two inputs with different
SC-H timing via TBC results in the expansion of blanking
width and horizontal shift. A similar phenomenon also occurs
when switching is done between different frames. To prevent
this and permit editing frames in same SC-H timing, KY-210B
can output a framing pulse which is superimposed on the VTR's
CTL pulse.
H/V BLANKING CIRCUIT. Both the H and V blanking periods can
be varied.
SPLIT TYPE COLOR BAR GENERATOR. The split type color bar
genarator conforming to RS-189A standard is built-in. The
split type color bar is useful for adjusting the encoder and
monitor.
GENLOCK CIRCUIT. The KY-210B can be genlocked either through
the RS-500 Remote Control Unit, or at the camera head, with a
standard composite video signal.
COMPACT, LIGHTWEIGHT & RUGGED DIECAST CONSTRUCTION. The
camera head is built to take the punishment of day-to-day
ENG/EFP usage. Its sleek, yet rugged design, assure
excellent mobility and dependability.
EXCELLENT OPERABILITY. Operation switches are installed on
control panels while adjustment switches are grouped behind
the door of the switch box. Ease of operation is maximized by
this separate arrangement. For easy operation and carrying,
a chest rest and shoulder strap are provided as standard
accessories.
AUTOMATIC FUNCTIONS
Auto shift registration circuit. In registration adjustment,
the horizontal and vertical shifting of the blue and red
channels is automatic. Adjustment is accomplished by simply
flipping a switch on the front panel, while shooting a normal
subject with clear contours. The circuit is digital and
registration data is stored in the camera's memory (provided
with battery backup).
Auto white balance circuit. The white color balance can be
adjusted automatically by flipping a switch, or the camera
can be operated with the switch in its preset position
(3200K). The white balance data is stored in the camera's
memory.
Auto black balance circuit. By flipping a switch
automatically closes the iris and adjusts the pedestal
balance of individual channels.
Auto beam control circuit (ABC). When more than the normal
amount of incident light enters the lens, insufficient
electron beams flow in the pickup tubes resulting in picture
distortion (blooming or comet-tails). The ABC circuit
reduces comet tails in highlight areas by controlling up to 8
times the reference amount of incident light.
Pickup tube protection. When the power switch in the front
panel is switched off or when the color bar switch is turned
on,the iris of the lens is closed to protect the pickup
tubes.
Auto black level circuit (ABL). The ABL circuit makes
possible sharp black images even when shooting outdoors under
bright conditions. The ABL circuit is a correction circuit
which reduces the overall level towards black to prevent
flares caused by light diffusion.
