TIME-LAPSE RECORDING PLUS VHS COMPATIBILITY

In addition to the standard VHS recording mode which allows 2 hours of continuous recording on a T-120 cassette, a full range of time-lapse recording speeds are available: 8, 12, 24, 36, 60 and 120 hours in the Frame Record mode and 12, 24, 48, 72, 120, 240 hours in the Field Record mode. For each application, the most appropriate recording speed can be selected.

ONE-SHOT RECORDING

The Manual TL mode allows one-shot recording. Feed the tape by pressing the FRAME SHIFT button or short the rear panel 1 SHOT REC terminals by switching; 4 frames will be recorded. The number of frames shot in one-shot recording can be changed to one frame by internal switching.

ALARM RECORDING

When used in combination with an alarm sensor, the BR-9000U switches its picture rate when an alarm signal is given, for more detailed coverage. The recording mode is automatically switched to standard VHS or the 8-hour mode from any other recording speed. When alarm recording starts, the ALARM indicator lights and a cue signal is recorded on the cue track for easy retrieval.

BUILT-IN TIME/DATE GENERATOR

The time and date of recorded incident can be recorded on the tape super-imposed on the picture for easy and accurate checking. Other information that can be recorded includes lap time, alarm number, camera number and recording mode. The location and intensity of the superimposed characters can be adjusted and characters are available both with and without a reverse background.

FIELD MEMORY FOR PERFECT STILLS AND NOISLESS SLOW MOTION

The noise normally present in still and slow pictures has been eliminated by the use of a newly-developed field memory. When playing back a field-recorded tape, switching to the adjacent field is done by pressing the PAUSE/STILL button.

VARIABLE-SPEED SEARCH

The SEARCH dial enables the search speed to be varied continuously from still to 5 times normal speed in both directions. When used in combination with the RM-G90U Remote Control Unit, the BR-9000U also provides jog control and frame- by-frame playback.

AUTO-REPEAT RECORDING AND SERIES RECORDING

In the Auto Repeat mode, the tape is automatically rewound when it reaches its end and recording is restarted. The BR-9000U also has an input and output for a series recording control signal so it can be coupled with a second time-lapse recorder which takes over when the tape in the first recorder ends.

TIMER RECORDING

Two timer programs are available, which operate using the built- in time/ date generator.

RM-G90U REMOTE CONTROL (OPTIONAL)

o The RM-G90U remote-controls the tape operation on the BR-9000U.

o Dial search

The search dial varies the tape playback speed continuously from still to 5 times normal in either direction.

o Jog control

The search dial is constructed as dual concentric controls; the inner dial functions as a jog dial which regulates the tape movement, accurately responding to the speed of turning the dial in either direction. When the jog dial is kept stationary, the picture is likewise in the still mode.
